FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIOnS

-

Sometimes the answers aren't always obvious. That's why we've compiled a list of the top most asked questions, and we're glad to help. Give us a call if yours didn't make the list!

Do Tattoos Hurt?

Yes! But in a good way. The brain releases endorphins when your body is in pain in order for you to keep going. The secret is this: our bodies love endorphins, so you'll actually kinda love it..

How much are piercings?

All basic piercings are always $40. This price includes jewelry. Dermal anchors start at $55. Genital piercings start at $60.

We accept cash payments only, but we do have an ATM machine for your convenience.

Do I need an appointment?

Walk-In's are always welcome! No appointment is necessary for smaller designs. However, if you’re interested in a larger tattoo, we suggest coming in and speaking with an artist ahead of time about your ideas. Appointments are suggested for anyone who wants a custom design. Your artist will take a non-refundable deposit before an appointment is set. Your cash deposit is applied toward the total cost of the tattoo. Deposits are non-refundable.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY TATTOO?

We highly recommend that you eat a meal shortly before your appointment, and  to drink plenty of water. If you start to feel dizzy, it helps to drink a soda to get some sugar in your system.

From our experience, it's best not to come in after a hard night of partying. Alcohol can thin your blood and can prolong bleeding for up to a full day after your tattoo. Extra blood can tend to mix with our inks, which will affect the end appearance of your fully healed artwork.

Remember - Keep Calm, it's just a tattoo!

HOW LONG DO TATTOOS TAKE TO HEAL?

It takes two weeks to “heal", and those are the most important! However, it takes a few months for the skin to fully regenerate.

How do I choose a tattoo design?

For those that just know what they like, this is the easy part. For others, it can be a longer process. Do some research, find images that you gravitate towards, save those and over time you will find that these images usually have a similar theme. If you find yourself liking lots of different things, that's okay! Sounds like multiple tattoos are in order.

After researching, the next step is to have a consultation. Working with your chosen artist is one of the most important parts of choosing a tattoo.

How much does a tattoo cost?

The cost of your tattoo depends on a number of factors including Size, Placement, Skin Type, and Color vs. Black & Grey. For smaller tattoos, we will generally quote you a price upfront, and we have no shop minimum at Certified.

For larger tattoos, your artist may opt to quote you an hourly rate (this is at each artist’s discretion). We accept cash payments only, but we do have an ATM machine for your convenience.

HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY TATTOO?

We recommend washing your tattoo with anti-bacterial soap as often as you feel necessary, a minimum of 3 times a day. The night and morning after getting tattooed you should wash your tattoo with water as hot as you can handle, this helps clear the lymph from your skin which is what can cause nasty scabbing.  If you’re sweating or have been rubbing it around on some nonsense, WASH IT!  When putting Aquaphor on your tattoo in the days following, remember to rub it into your skin gently.

Do not leave a thick layer of clothing or anything else over your tattoo, it needs to breathe to heal.  Lastly, DO NOT pick at your scabs, this will pull the ink/color out.  Let your scab fall off naturally.

Use non-scented (fragrance free) anti-bacterial soap (DIAL Gold)

1st 3 days use aquaphor a minimum of 3 times a day (can use A&D ointment)

After 3 days, use non-scented lotion (Aveeno or Lubriderm are great options)

- Do not soak in tubs, pools, lakes, oceans, etc.

- Stay out of direct sun.
